I was wondering whether this cute quiz has any scientific background. Therefore, I went down the rabbit hole until I found out that this personality test seemed to have a solid foundation.
The Cake Resume career quiz builds on Holland’s theory of vocational choice. The essence of Holland’s theory is that it predicts the outcome of person-environment interactions so that it helps people find the right career, change jobs, or obtain career satisfaction.
Holland identified six personality types (Holland types): Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional. He argues that the environment is equally important as personality to understand human behavior.

It took me less than five minutes to answer the choice questions. The story and the experience strongly reminded me of the Cosmos Persona quiz that takes you on a fictional bus ride that ends in outer space with flying cats and robots.

However popular the pixel-style personality quiz Cake Resume has been among TikTok folks and social media users, I must admit that this cute quiz is surprisingly accurate.
I liked the infographic very much. My absolute favorites were the spider diagram and the workaholism index.
Indeed, this personality quiz may help you better understand yourself and make the right career decision or find the right career path. However, you don’t want to rely and base your decisions on a single career test. You may want to take different and more rigorous personality tests to reveal your innate personality and find out your work values and ideal job.
